In 'HaHaHuizen', Pieter Van Eenoge explores the theme of architecture, with a key role for the fantastic “A Book of Houses”: here, he makes the link between contemporary and vernacular architecture in a visual and at the same time eloquent way. To complement the illustration work, Van Eenoge shows a series of paintings on canvas where the notion of house is abstracted formally. The purism of Ozenfant and Le Corbusier, the cut-outs of Matisse and the cubism of Léger are never far away, and are interpreted in a clever slash constructive way ─ including winking as a trademark.
