Nicolas Keppens, Oscar-nominated animator and sculptural researcher of the tragicomic, likes to combine absurd situations with underlying melancholy in his short films (Wildebeest, Easter Eggs, Beautiful Men). Keppens displays sculptures that oscillate between cartoon and reality; he seeks out the moment when naïve figures unexpectedly move us. The result is a tactile exploration of the fine line between failure, endearment and human authenticity.
