In 'Our house, burning' her first solo exhibition at Rufus Gallery, Laudelout presents new paintings, drawings and poems. The exhibition is based on mourning and carries an explicit, personal message: the title refers to the intense bond with her twin sister, who passed away at the end of 2025. Image and word function here as document and investigation. Through drawing, painting and, for the first time, writing, Laudelout seeks a way to comprehend her loss. The poems are written in memory of her sister, an avid reader and writer who never shared her texts. Our house, burning is thus an intimate and courageous attempt to keep speaking when everything falls silent.
