Stien Bekaert (°1985) graduated in 2010 with a master's degree in graphics from KASK is a multidisciplinary artist, explores concepts such as alienation, connection and identity. Her practice, in which digital media are ubiquitous, explores the use of "found footage" material and its new meanings through manipulation, distortion and isolation from the original context. Photographic elements are recurrent in Stien Bekaert's work. She uses the medium as a tool to study a way of seeing; her artistic outcome is not strictly photographic.
