Elke Van Kerckvoorde (°1992, Gent) got her degree as a Master Painter at LUCA School of Arts in 2014, but grew up in a universe made out of logos, design software and printing. Van Kerckvoorde distorts graphic elements she samples from everyday life, only to render them in a language that is as visual as it is geometrical. Her finishing touch seems to add a layer, or rather an appearance, of industrial materials on top of her work. An eclectic approach that results in interesting shape-shifting and one recurring question: where is the artist?
